A Leadership Home for People Ready to Grow
Leadership is not meant to be carried alone.
The Alakaʻi Collective Fellowships are cohort-based leadership development experiences designed for nonprofit, education, and community leaders who are ready to grow with intention, lead with clarity, and create impact that extends beyond their individual role.
This is not a training program. It is a leadership home — a structured, values-driven space where leaders do real work, build real relationships, and develop real accountability for outcomes that matter.
-
Alakaʻi Collective Fellowships are designed for leaders who are:
Navigating a leadership transition, stretch role, or moment of significant growth
Carrying real responsibility for people, programs, or communities
Ready to invest in their leadership practice — not just their résumé
Seeking a community of peers who understand the complexity of mission-driven work
Committed to showing up fully and following through consistently
Formal leadership titles are not required. What matters is your readiness to grow.
We have a deep commitment to AAPI leaders and those working in communities that have been historically underserved by traditional leadership development programs.
-
Most leadership programs offer inspiration or isolated skills. The Alakaʻi Collective Fellowship offers something rarer — a sustained, accountable leadership experience grounded in community, reflection, and real-world practice.
We don't just develop leaders. We develop leadership that lasts.
Fellows don't sit through lectures or collect certificates. They engage in honest reflection, receive and apply meaningful feedback, collaborate with peers navigating similar challenges, and complete a capstone project tied to a real leadership challenge in their organization or community.
Every element of the fellowship is anchored in five core leadership practices.
-
Inclusive Community Leadership built in relationship, not isolation. Fellows cultivate trust, belonging, and shared leadership across differences of role, identity, and perspective.
Practicing Joy Joy is not a reward — it is a leadership discipline. Fellows develop sustainable practices that honor their humanity alongside their responsibility.
Resilient Growth Growth happens through reflection, feedback, and adaptation. Fellows deepen self-awareness, integrate learning, and navigate complexity with greater confidence.
Collective Impact Meaningful change happens together. Fellows align their leadership to shared outcomes that extend beyond their individual role or organization.
Shared Accountability Fellows set clear goals, track progress, and take ownership of results — not just effort or intention.
-
Over the course of the fellowship, participants will:
Engage in facilitated learning sessions grounded in real leadership challenges
Build trusted relationships with a cohort of peers navigating similar work
Receive structured feedback and coaching to strengthen their practice
Apply leadership learning through between-session reflection and practice
Complete a capstone or impact project aligned to their organization or community
Develop clear leadership goals — and the accountability structures to achieve them
-
